I read these prayers every so often but they are hard to read and relate to. They are very old style written. I was hoping for a more up to date prayer book. There is a prayer on each page or two of this book and it is very large. I love praying for my children but this book has not really helped me or guided me very much. I am only on page 42 out of 241 and there is one prayer that I bookmarked and would come back to again. This book keeps making it to the bottom of my pile and I don't come back to it often.Product details

Here's the thing...I own Andrew Case's Prayers of an Excellent Wife and I loved it. So when I saw that he had one about praying for your children I knew I had to have it. When I received it in the mail yesterday I thought I'd go through both books simultaneously. Instantly I realized that he essentially replaced the words "husband" and "him" with "my children" and "them." The prayers are exactly the same. Considering I already owned the one, I was very disapointed to realize I basically just bought the same book again. The content itself is great, but I honestly feel cheated. I guess I'll give it away at the next baby shower I go to, since I don't need it.
I am not good at expressing lots of detail, this book takes scripture and puts it into prayer. Teaching me to pray more thoroughly.
Awesome resource for praying!
I really enjoy the way this book is set up and the encouragement from the author. Mr. Case states at the beginning that you should aim to use these prayers verbatim until the time comes, and it does come after practice, that you've learned to pray the scriptures over your children without the guidance of others. Great resource for parents!
Having this on my kindle for Android is very convenient - encourages and reminds me to pray daily for my children. These beautifully written, daily prayers are inspiring and perfect to read, pray and make personal no matter where you are during the day. I recommend this book to all mothers who love the Lord and their children.
So grateful for this incredible Biblical resource. I use this frequently as well as give it often as a gift.(along with its other volume on praying for your spouse). Andrew Case has done a great amount of work compiling a rich volume of prayers, completely based on scripture. My own kids are teens and young adults - so I really appreciate being able to pray prayers for them that incorporate God's very words. Highly recommend!
Phil Yancey said he sometimes doesn't have words to convey his concerns in prayer, and that's when it's helpful to borrow someone else's. Prayer books prime the pump and can express our burdens in ways we can't. As a parent, I have found these prayers extremely helpful in my prayer time. They clearly express the hopes and dreams of Christian parents...and burdens. I've been to war (Desert Storm) and I've had kids, and war was easier. I'm grateful for this book that I keep on my and use most days.
